Account data — email address, phone number (via Firebase), name, birthdate, gender
Profile data — photos, bio, occupation, city, interests, and preferences you voluntarily provide
Usage data — pages visited, features used, last-active timestamps
Device data — device type and OS, collected automatically by Firebase
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
Provide and improve the matching and events features
Show your profile to other users who match your preferences
Send transactional emails (email verification, support replies)
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety violations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Who Sees Your Profile
Other registered users can see your public profile — name, photos, bio, city, and interests. Your email address and phone number are never shown to other users. You can hide your profile from search results at any time via the "Actively Looking" toggle in Settings.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
Firebase (Google) — phone authentication and push notifications
Cloudinary — photo storage and delivery
Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, photos, and match history are permanently removed within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer where required by law.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@hmongneeg.com. You can also delete your account directly from the Settings screen.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage and HTTPS in transit. No system is perfectly secure; use a strong, unique password and keep your phone secure.
8. Children
Hmong Neeg is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
